It’s hard not to fall in love with this charming port city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
Within the walled city you will find with cobblestone streets, colorful colonial buildings, and some of the best nightlife there is in South America.
Plaza De San Pedro Claver. A seemingly normal square in the heart of the old city that comes alive at night. The street music echos throughout the plaza, nearby restaurants offer outdoor drinks & dining, and local artisans go from table to table selling their wares. The energy makes for an upbeat party atmosphere.
Cafe Havana. Friendly travelers, attentive bartenders, a great live band all night long, dancing, and the best mojitos around. The world famous Cafe Havana is hands down the place to be in Cartagena. This hot spot is only open Wednesday-Sunday, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
Media Luna Hostel. The hostel hosts an epic weekly Wednesday night party that is attended by tourists, backpackers, and locals alike. For a small cover charge you gain access to the rooftop bar, where there is often a live band, cheap alcohol, dancing, and the party goes on until the early hours of the morning.
